All you need to do is install the Mac OS X driver. And it only works for HP scanners (obviously). Newer models of HP scanners and Mac OS X Mountain Lion typically work well together without any issues. If you expect a professional OCR app, this one is not for you. I downloaded the app for its OCR capabilities only, not the scan features as MacOS has its own. You’ll find it in launchpad > Other and then you might need to click on ‘shared’ to see your scanner if connected to wifi.
However because it should work with both I’ve put it at 2 star.Īnyway for anyone who this doesn’t work and just needs a scan and isn’t fussed about OCR then use the inbuilt Apple 'Image Capture' which does work.
